Before we got in the pool and learned the professional way to swim, we learned about the proper swimwear/swim attire for the pool. The list of swim attire consists of bathing suits, swim suits, swimming googles, and a swimming cap. Also things used after swimming were a towel and a sandals.
From my experience of swimming in the pool before we started in school I never really learned how to swim professionally. I would just get in and play around with my brother/cousins. Once I started high school I started to learn how to swim the professional way. First, we changed into the proper swim wear. Then, we got in and lined up against the wall. Next, the teacher told us to swim/walk across the pool, I went swimming to the other side of the pool. Finally, the teacher put me in the second group.
The next couple of days we had been going into the pool we had been working on stream line. Streamline consists of a person placing hand over hand, fingers over fingers, and raising their arms above their head. Legs are straight and feet are pointed. At times it would be hard to keep my legs straight and my body while swimming to the other side of the pool. Me and my classmates would take turns doing the streamline.
Another thing that we learned to do in the pool was how to be able to breath under water. We would spread our arms all the way out and hold on to it. We would be standing as well. First we would start blowing bubbles into the water with our nose. Then with our left arm moving in and out the water. Next the right arm would go towards the back and would come out of the water and when it would be out of the water is when you would turn you head to the right to come up for air. Finally you would have to repeat the same steps while swimming.
In my experience of being in the pool I learned how to properly streamline and how to breath the proper way without getting a lot of water in my mouth. In my opinion swimming can be educational and fun at the same time. It was very cool that I was able to be in the pool and experience how to swim the professional way with my friends and many more of my classmates that I met.
